With many of our shows in production and development, TIFF has become a regular and busy event. Getting around downtown Toronto to meetings or to the studio during TIFF can be a challenge. But you have to admit that we all get a lot of work out it. So two thumbs up.
We are pleased to announce that Ed Blomeley, CEO of the Blomeley Group of Companies, has been featured in the Ottawa Business Journal’s Who’s Who.
If you can’t expand the above OBJ August 2016 article, here’s the spiel…
Profiles of key executives at some of the top film and television companies in Ottawa-Gatineau. See page 66 for a complete list of the sector’s largest firms in the region, Profiles by Jacob Serebin.
Ed Blomeley, CEO The Blomeley Group of Cos.
Ed Blomeley got his start working in radio broadcasting before moving into TV and now, streaming video over the internet. He’s the president and CEO of Blomeley Communications, a company he started in 1988. His previous positions include working in radio and as a freelance sports broadcaster, as well as spending six years working at CJOH-TV. While covering the Calgary Olympics, he heard about an opportunity in Ottawa. “At the time,” he says,, “Ottawa didn’t really have a core of sports broadcasters.” So he came back to the city and set up shop. His education background is in broadcasting, which he studied at Algonquin College. Some of the notable projects include producing Don Cherry’s Rock’em Sock’em DVDs every year as well as working on the coverage of three Olympic Games. He is currently in the process of developing and launching an online television channel named TruckGuysTV. Given his long history in the sports broadcasting world, it’s no surprise that Mr. Blomeley’s favourite TV programs are sports related. He says he loves the beginnings and ends of sports broadcasts – the pundits, the features, the intros and recaps.
September 17, 2012 Ottawa – The Library of Parliament just launched an excellent multiplatform education tool and resource. It is called ‘Our Country Parliament’. The LofP/Public Education Programs staff should be commended for their great vision, and then the ability to navigate the project over an extended period of time and through many multi-departmental reviews, …and actually deliver a significant product that looks and feels very similar to the original vision. Congrats!!!!
Blomeley Communications has been fortunate to work with the Library of Parliament on numerous occasions over the years. This project is truly unique and worthwhile to anyone wanting to know about the Canadian Parliamentary system and its components. So needless-to-say we are proud to have played a small part in this multi-platform, multi-use, pan-demographic project. It was right up our alley and the results are amazing.
