Blomeley Communications is a supporter of the ‘D.I.F.D.’ campaign. For us it all started when Blomeley was called upon last March by OHL Commissioner Dave Branch to produce a short video on the subject of Depression, as the second video in the OHL’s Health Education Series. The first video in the series was produced by Rogers Sportsnet on the subject of ‘Concussions’ featuring Nick Kypreos.
The OHL Depression video was produced in partnership with ‘The Royal Mental Health Care-Research Hospital’ and the ‘Do it for Daron’ campaign. The awareness information video featured three current and former high level hockey players who each has been affected by Depression in their lives: Luke Richardson (NHL player and coach), Tessa Bonhomme (National Women’s Team Olympic gold medalist), and Jeremy Akeson (Ottawa 67s, College and ECHL pro). Script writing, logistics, and tremendous support was provided by Nicole Loreto, Chief Communications Officer at The Royal.
The Health Education Videos are messages provided for all hockey players and families, …actually for everyone who is or has been touched by depression. The video will be posted on all OHL team websites, Royal Hospital sites, and will be distributed as required.
